Vickie R. Driver, MS, DPM, FACFAS, has been appointed Director of Director, Clinical Research Limb Preservation and Wound Healing as well as Director of the National and International Research Fellowship Programs at Boston University Medical Center (BUMC). Dr. Driver also has been appointed associate professor of surgery at Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM). Dr. Driver has a distinguished career in the field of podiatric medicine and surgery, with a special emphasis on limb preservation and wound care. She is nationally and internationally regarded as a premiere clinician, surgeon, researcher and educator. As a dedicated researcher she has served as an investigator for more than 50 important multi-center randomized clinical trials, as well as developed and supervised multiple research fellowship positions. She is credited with the development and directorship of two major multidisciplinary limb preservation centers; one for the military in Washington State and one for Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago, IL. She has co-authored over 60 articles, abstracts and manuscripts. Dr. Driver is quoted in all levels of medicine that pertain to preserving limbs in the high risk patient.
